Restaurants
From Michelin-starred fine dining to beloved local favourites
Cin Cin
A tiny Italian restaurant on Vine Street that punches way above its weight. Just 20 covers, no reservations, seasonal pasta and small plates that change weekly. Worth the queue.
The Coal Shed
The best steak in Brighton, no contest. Dry-aged cuts cooked over charcoal, plus excellent seafood from the Sussex coast. The sharing tomahawk is legendary.
Food for Friends
A Brighton institution since 1981. Inventive vegetarian and vegan cooking that proves plant-based food can be genuinely exciting. The Lanes location is quintessential Brighton.
The Chilli Pickle
Bold, vibrant Indian street food and curries that have won just about every award going. The tasting menu is a journey through regional Indian cooking that most curry houses never attempt.
Riddle & Finns
Champagne and oysters on the seafront. Riddle & Finns does simple, beautifully sourced seafood in one of Brighton's most enviable locations, right in the arches below the promenade.

Terre a Terre
A Brighton vegetarian restaurant that's been ahead of the curve since 1993. Complex, globally-inspired dishes that make meat seem entirely unnecessary.

The Set
Hidden in the basement of Artist Residence hotel, The Set serves creative modern British food in an intimate, candlelit space. The tasting menu is excellent value.
Murmur
Michael Bremner's follow-up to 64 Degrees, right on the seafront. Bold, confident cooking that makes the most of Sussex produce. Small plates designed for sharing.
Fatto a Mano
Proper Neapolitan pizza with a blistered, leopard-spotted crust from a blisteringly hot oven. The margherita is a thing of simple beauty. Multiple locations but North Laine is the original.
